HOW IT WORKS
Creating your dream outdoor space involves a mix of vision, design flair, hard work, and time.
So you know what to expect, these are the stages that make up a Helyers garden project.
We start by listening. Listening to what you want from your garden (and what you don’t want!). We’ll pitch in with ideas along the way, but this first meeting is very important. It allows us to be creative but achieve the objectives we know you have for your dream outdoor space.
Our design team, led by Robin Shepherd, combines years of experience with up-to-the-minute technology to design your garden. Computer Aided Design software allows us to experiment with different layouts to get the most from your space. Features and planting notes are entered on the plan.
Once you have approved the design, work begins. In some cases, large amounts of earth and existing structures need to be moved or removed to make way for your new garden. This is when the large machinery does its work, and is the most dramatic stage of the process.
This is when you start to see your new garden taking shape. The plan is made real, with features and boundaries marked out, millimetre for millimetre, to make sure everything fits perfectly.
Hard landscaping is the brickwork and paving that forms the parts of your garden where perhaps you’ll be spending most of your time – patios and terraces, as well as the steps, walls, rockeries and paths that join them together.
You will have had an idea of what your garden was going to look like from the detailed plans, but it’s not until we soften the landscaping with trees, shrubs, plants and grass, that it comes into its own. We will of course give you guidance in how to care for your plants too.
Creating a whole new outdoor space can take some weeks, but we think you’ll discover that it’s well worth the wait.
I cannot speak too highly of the work done by Helyers, but I must single out Matt, he was the most helpful and nothing was to much trouble for him to satisfy any items I raised. The team all worked well together, and Callum, Rob and Dave also all do deserve a mention for their efforts. I would have no hesitation in recommending Helyers to anyone seeking my opinion on the standard of their work. Thank you all.
Particularly pleased with the work, the design and the path.
