Over 5 square metres of impermeable surface generally needs planning permission. A permeable build-up, or draining to a planted area, normally avoids it.
How much space does a car need?
Allow roughly 5m by 2.4m as a minimum for a standard car, plus room to open a door. We measure and set it out on site.
Can I keep some planting?
Yes – and we recommend it. It softens the frontage and helps with drainage compliance.
